Barefoot Bucha is a Certified Organic craft kombucha that is microbrewed in Virginia from pure Blue Ridge Mountain water and infused with Organic and Fair Trade ingredients. Kombucha is a live, fermented tea that originated in Eurasia approximately 2,000 years ago. Often enjoyed after a meal, it is considered healthful to the digestive system for its probiotic content, amino acids, and active enzymes.

Our no-waste model
Barefoot Bucha is committed to being a leader in what it means to be a "sustainable" business. This means that not only do we take greening measures such as reducing energy consumption, partnering with local delivery companies to minimize the impact of our distribution, and composting our brewery waste--we also keg our kombucha and offer it on draft at retail locations and restaurants. Rather than contributing to packaging and consumer waste, our model actually reduces it!
Barefoot Bucha drinkers purchase a refillable bottle, which they then own and can take to any fountain location to fill up on fresh, tasty kombucha. This is similar to using your own bags to carry groceries or your own containers to fill up on bulk items. It takes a commitment, but it's worth the effort! Many locations also offer our kombucha in glasses or compostable cups to be enjoyed on the spot.
Since 2010, Barefoot Bucha drinkers have saved over 400,000 bottles by using our refillable bottles to fill up on their favorite flavors of Barefoot Bucha. There are currently over 25,000 bottles in circulation in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
